Golf in the Algarve

The Algarve, merely two to three hours' flight from most European capitals, has been a magnet to many discerning golfers for almost three decades. Portugal's' southernmost province is fairly famous for its spectacular scenery along a fabulous coastline.
Add to this 25 beautifully tended golf courses, a friendly climate, a cosmopolitan culture and a wholesome regional cuisine, all in a compact area steeped in history, and you have the ultimate in all year-round golfing destinations.
On top of that the Algarve offers a certain style and charm that is characteristic of the Portuguese and their friendly nature.

All 25 golf courses are located in the space of 100 miles of coastline, within one and a half hour's drive from Faro International Airport. Some of these courses may be included in the list of the top European championship courses.

Warm playing conditions and immaculately manicured fairways and greens are the norm of these golf courses.
The development of golf resorts in the Algarve has been slower than experienced in other parts of Europe, however, the quality of the courses rivals anywhere.
